Jollife and Sailors from the USS George Washington (CVN 73), USS Michigan (SSGN 727), Navy Operational Support Center Detroit, Navy Recruiting District Michigan and the Navy Office of Community Outreach were in attendance for the game between Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics as part of Detroit Navy Week 2011, which runs from July 18-24. Navy Weeks are designed to showcase the investment Americans have made in their Navy as a global force for good and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence.
