Extracurriculars

Shepherd of the Lakes offers several extracurricular opportunities.

Shepherd of the Lakes is part of the Mid Michigan Independent Athletic Association which includes area private schools and small public schools. SOTL fields a cross country, girls volleyball, co-ed soccer, boys basketball, girls cheer, and girls basketball teams for students in grades five through eight.

Our school generally offers a soccer club to our younger students. Most recently, our club has been sponsored by Soccer Shots.

A free Math Club is offered Mondays after school. The kindergarten through second graders and the third through eighth graders meet on alternating weeks. Check the FastDirect calendar for which grades meet on which Mondays.

Depending on the volunteers, we offer seasonal running clubs to our boys and girls in third and fourth grades.

In winter we often offer a cross country ski club.

Beginning in first grade, many students from our school participate in Community Bible Church’s recreational basketball league. Several of our parents coach, and our students play on those teams or other teams.

A praise band of singers and instrumentalists in grades four through eight meets regularly to practice. They play in our weekly chapel service.

More extracurricular activities may be added depending on the interest of the students and the volunteers willing to serve.
